2026/07/07
What is this medication for?
Proctol® suppositories contain a combination of medications (hydrocortisone, cinchocaine, framycetin) for the relief of swelling, itching and discomfort of hemorrhoids or other rectal problems.
How should I take/use this medication?

Suppositories are for rectal use only. Administer as directed by your doctor, after bowel movement.

How to use suppositories:

  1. Wash and dry your hands.
  2. Tear off one single suppository and remove the plastic wrapper. If the suppository is too soft, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes until it is firm.
  3. You may moisten the rectal area with a small amount of water for easier insertion of the suppository.
  4. Lie down on your side with your top leg slightly bent toward your stomach and your bottom leg straight.
  5. Insert the suppository into the rectum, narrow end first. Gently but firmly push the suppository.
  6. Remain lying for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the suppository to melt and release the medications.
  7. Wash your hands with soap and water after using a suppository.
What should I do if I forget to take/use this medication?
If you forget to insert a suppository, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed suppository and go back to your usual timing. Do not insert two suppositories at the same time to make up for the missed dose.
