NUHS Marks a Decade of Driving Value in Healthcare at the AVBC Symposium 2026

More than 350 healthcare leaders, clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals gathered on 15 September 2026 for the NUHS Appropriate and Value-Based Care (AVBC) Symposium 2026, marking a decade of NUHS' value-based healthcare journey. Held under the theme "A Decade of Driving Value in Healthcare", the symposium brought together stakeholders from NUHS, MOH, SingHealth, NHG Health, St. Luke's Hospital and the international Value Catalyst Community to reflect on the impact and future of value-based care.
Guest-of-Honour Mdm Rahayu Mahzam highlighted the importance of delivering patient-centred outcomes and advancing the national Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) programme, while local and international speakers discussed key topics including care transformation, patient-centred value, payment and incentive alignment, and sustaining value-driven healthcare. The event also featured a keynote by Professor Gregory Katz on outcomes benchmarking and learning health systems, and marked the launch of two commemorative publications: A Practical Framework for Measuring Health Outcomes at NUHS – The First Decade of Our Journey and the NUHS Clinical Outcomes Book.

NUHS Tribute Night 2025
The NUHS Tribute Awards Ceremony is a biennial event where we recognise NUHS staff who have made outstanding contributions to patient care, research, and education in our academic health system. Joining us for the 5th edition of the awards ceremony this year was Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Gan Kim Yong. At the prestigious event, we gave out 67 awards – including the NUHS Pinnacle Awards, Distinguished Senior Clinician Awards, as well as Emeritus Consultant and Fellow Conferments - to 77 outstanding recipients.
Inaugural NUHS Caregivers' Day 2025
Graced by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment, and Transport, we honoured 19 caregivers at the annual NUHS Caregiver Appreciation Ceremony, recognising their dedication and vital role in patient care.
The event also marked the launch of the Patient and Family Advocacy Council at Tengah General and Community Hospital (TGCH) inviting patients, caregivers, and residents to shape the upcoming TGCH.

The NUHS Centre for Nursing Excellence (CoNE) held its inaugural nursing conference on 23 July, which highlighted the importance of professional development for nurses and featured innovative methods in nursing education.

1st NUSI Public Spine Symposium
NUHS launches the National University Spine Institute (NUSI) with the 1st NUSI Public Symposium. NUSI provides the full spectrum of care, from pain management to rehabilitation medicine, and the latest in minimally invasive, navigation, robotic spine surgery as well as complex surgical techniques for the treatment of scoliosis, spinal tumours, degenerative spine disorders and spinal trauma.

Inaugural NUHS Caregivers' Day 2024
NUHS celebrated its inaugural NUHS Caregivers' Day with over a hundred caregivers and nine of our community partners to honour the courage, compassion and resilience of all caregivers.
NUHS also celebrated eight exemplary caregivers, who received the NUHS Caregiver Award. Nominated by our healthcare team across our various institutions, these inspiring individuals were recognised for going above and beyond their role as caregivers, and who continues to inspire us with their dedication and commitment in caring for their loved ones.
