About NUHS Allied Health & Pharmacy Professionals

NUHS Allied Health and Pharmacy professionals are qualified practitioners and integral members of the holistic care team. With specialised expertise across a diverse range of disciplines, they practise at the forefront of their professions to improve health outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients.

Today, there are many Allied Health professions, including Pharmacy, that work across nine NUHS institutions. Each profession has a distinct scope of practice and contributes unique expertise across the care continuum from primary and preventive care to acute, rehabilitation and long-term care settings.

Working closely with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, Allied Health and Pharmacy professionals play important roles in the care of the patient within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. They contribute to the diagnosis, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of diseases and illnesses, helping patients achieve and maintain their physical, sensory, psychological, cognitive and social well-being.

Beyond clinical duties, our Allied Health and Pharmacy professionals participate actively in research, education and health promotion initiatives such as providing workshops and talks for our patients, and in the community. Many are also involved in mentoring future Allied Health and Pharmacy professionals and advancing practice at both national and international levels.
