Dr Quek Lit Sin, CEO, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital

Chief Executive Officer, NTFGH

Dr Quek Lit Sin is the Chief Executive Officer of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and oversees JurongHealth Campus (JHC), which comprises the 700-bed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH) and 400-bed Jurong Community Hospital (JCH). Dr Quek is an Emergency Medicine Specialist who practises as a Senior Consultant in NTFGH’s Emergency Department (ED).

Dr Quek obtained his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh for Accident & Emergency and Master of Medicine in Emergency Medicine in 2001. He completed a Disaster Medicine Fellowship in the Ronald Reagan Institute of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center, renowned for disaster planning, preparedness and response and the enhancement of emergency medical services. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

As the former Head of NTFGH’s ED and Co-Chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee, he was a member of the pioneer leadership team who built the integrated hospitals from ground up. When planning the ED, he made sure to embed hospital design features with infrastructural provisions which enabled NTFGH to cater to industrial, chemical mass casualty events and allowed for rapid conversion of spaces to respond to pandemic surge.

Dr Quek was subsequently appointed Group Chief for Emergency Medicine, NUHS where he oversaw the EDs at NTFGH and NUH, including Alexandra Hospital’s Urgent Care Clinic. He was concurrently Vice Chairman, Medical Board (Clinical Governance), NTFGH, where he re-shaped the clinical governance of the Medical Board to enable greater effectiveness in direction setting and future planning of the campus’ clinical priorities.

He also serves on SCDF’s Medical Advisory Committee for the Ministry of Home Affairs, SAF’s Emergency Medicine Medical Advisory Panel for the Ministry of Defence and the Panel of Associate Mediators, Singapore Mediation Centre, Singapore Academy of Law.

In recognition of his dedication to continually raise Singapore’s standards of care and emergency preparedness, he was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2020.
