Prosthetists fabricate and fit prostheses (artificial limbs) for patients who have lost their limbs to an accident, injury or medical conditions such as diabetes and cancer. Other than fabricating and fitting the prostheses, they also guide patients in the proper use and care of their new ‘limb’ to help them regain their mobility and functional independence in performing daily activities.
