Diagnostic Radiographer

A Day in the Life of a Diagnostic Radiographer

Diagnostic Radiographers use medical radiation (such as X-rays, ultrasound, etc) and operate sophisticated equipment for imaging of the human body to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. They review, plan and conduct diagnostic imaging procedures, and help patients ensure that the right positions are achieved to obtain diagnostic quality radiographic images.

Diagnostic Radiographers apply the principles of radiation protection for appropriate dispensing of radiation to ensure that patients are exposed to a safe level of radiation.
