Embryologists work with gametes (oocytes and sperm) and embryos as part of fertility treatments. Embryologists are highly skilled in using specialised equipment to assist with the fertilisation process. They also conduct fertility tests, are involved in the process of harvesting eggs and sperm, and conduct In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) procedures. They work very closely with doctors from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.
How to become an Embryologist?
To practise as an Embryologist, you will require a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Life Science, Biomedical Science, Reproductive Medicine, Microbiology or Clinical Embryology.
