NUHS is constantly seeking for new avenues to advance health and empower people to take charge of their health. We not only strive to improve the health of our local community, but we are also working to improve the health and healthcare of people across the region, through our Global Health Initiatives.
The NUHS Global Health Initiatives are outreach projects headed by our doctors, residents and medical students, with the aim to educate, support, supplement and operate health services in underprivileged communities overseas.
These projects provide patients with much needed healthcare, while supporting local health systems with transfer of medical skills and knowledge, education and training. In turn, the experience garnered from these mission trips nurtures our medical professionals with a strong spirit of volunteerism and compassion, while providing them with invaluable exposure and training under harsh and varied medical conditions.
NUHS Global Health Initiatives currently spans across multiple countries in the region including Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Bangladesh and Malaysia.
