Dr Lim Yean Teng graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Singapore. After completing his training in internal medicine, he underwent cardiology training at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia and the Cardiac Department at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore. He then spent 18 months at the Division of Cardiovascular Disease in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, USA. He received further training in Interventional and Nuclear Cardiology and subsequently went for further training in Peripheral Intervention Fellowship at the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, Illinois in the United States. Dr Lim’s special interests include percutaneous coronary intervention, clinical and nuclear cardiology.

Dr Lim is recognised as a key opinion leader in the cardiology field in Singapore and the region. Before going into private practice, he served in public hospitals for 24 years. Apart from his role as a Senior Consultant Cardiologist, he was a university academic for 17 years, and served as Chairman, Medical Board and Head of the Cardiac Department at NUH. He was also a member of the Senior Management and Co-Director of the Heart Institute of the National Healthcare Group. He was Chairman of the National Committee for Cardiac Care and Specialists' Training Committee (Cardiology).

He currently serves as Chairman, Medical Fee Benchmarks Committee and is a member of the Specialists Accreditation Board under the Ministry of Health and Medicine Advisory Board under the Health Sciences Authority.
