With the national move of healthcare from the hospital to the community and the focus on preventive health, Family Medicine at NUHS was formed on 1st February 2018.
Managed by NUHS since January 2021, Jurong Medical Centre (JMC) is a one-stop specialist and ambulatory centre which brings outpatient specialist care and day surgery services right to the doorstep of residents in the west.
Nestled in the lush evergreen town of Tengah, the new Tengah General and Community Hospital (TGCH) will be an exciting and innovative health campus providing a comprehensive range of clinical specialties and healthcare services including emergency, inpatient, rehabilitative and outpatient specialist care.
More than 350 healthcare leaders, clinicians and healthcare professionals gathered at the NUHS Appropriate and Value-Based Care (AVBC) Symposium 2026 to celebrate 10 years of advancing value-based healthcare at NUHS.
Under the theme, "A Decade of Driving Value in Healthcare", the symposium was graced by Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information and Ministry of Health. Local and international speakers also reflected on how we can transform care, focus on outcomes that matter to patients, align incentives for value and carry this work forward.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of two publications commemorating NUHS' 10-year value journey, alongside an exhibition, which showcased key milestones, impact achieved over the past decade, patient stories, and the mindset shifts that have shaped NUHS' approach to Appropriate and Value-Based Care.
