A Healthier West Coast
Functional Screenings in West Coast
Between October 2024 and November 2025, eight functional
screenings were conducted across various locations in West Coast. These
sessions helped partners reach areas with lower screening uptake
and connect with seniors who might not otherwise come forward.

The Bros Interest Group
Formed in mid‑2024 at SASCO@West Coast Active Ageing Centre (Care), the Bros Interest Group provides male seniors with a regular platform to connect and stay active. Participants bond over activities such as darts, archery, and fitness workouts, fostering meaningful participation, social connection, and community building.

Active Ageing Programmes in Community Spaces
St Luke’s ElderCare worked with community partners including Grace Orchard School, The Bible Church, and Mount Carmel Bible‑Presbyterian Church to deliver active ageing programmes across multiple community locations. By using accessible neighbourhood spaces, these programmes made it easier for seniors to participate and stay engaged close to home.

Valentine's Mass Cardio Tea Dance
In February 2025, residents gathered at West Coast Community Centre for the Valentine’s Mass Cardio Tea Dance, a lively community event that combined physical activity with social interaction. In addition to dancing and group activities, basic health screenings were offered through a partnership between People's Association (PA) West Coast and NUHS, supporting both active living and preventive care.
National Day Celebrations
In August 2024, St Luke’s ElderCare, SASCO@West Coast Active Ageing Centre (Care), and community partners came together to engage seniors living in private estates through National Day celebrations. The celebrations provided opportunities for seniors to connect, participate in community activities, and strengthen social ties within the neighbourhood.
West Coast Active Ageing Carnival
In November 2025, the West Coast Active Ageing Carnival brought residents, volunteers and partners together at West Coast Community Centre. The event showcased services from Active Ageing Centres, the Community Resource, Engagement and Support Team (CREST), and NUHS Community Health Posts, while creating space for seniors to mingle and learn more about the support available to them.
