Advanced Internal Medicine

The NUHS Advanced Internal Medicine Senior Residency Programme is a 2 year comprehensive programme that aims to build on the experience and competencies gained during the basic internal medicine residency years. Its goal is to equip its graduates with skills and knowledge to provide excellent evidence based medical care for adult patients admitted into the hospital or seen in the clinic for multiple medical conditions or undifferentiated symptoms or signs. The 2 year programme consists of 18 months of training in general internal medicine (general medicine, GRM) and 6 months of elective rotations. Elective rotations can include any of the following: geriatric medicine, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiology, infectious diseases, renal medicine, endocrinology, respiratory medicine, MICU, haematology-oncology, rheumatology, dermatology, palliative medicine, rehabilitation medicine or psychiatry.

As an Academic Medical Centre and due to its strong collaboration with NUS, NUHS offers its residents exposure to top faculty, cutting edge clinical care and numerous opportunities for research. Our programme allows development of the broad expertise that is necessary to provide holistic and comprehensive patient care in general internal medicine.
