Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How many sessions are there?
The programme consists of four online workshops. There will be playback recordings if you are unable to attend the scheduled sessions.

  2. What happens if I miss a session?
If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, playback recordings are available. However, you are highly encouraged to join the live workshops to get the most out of them.

  3. Why is there a programme fee?
This is to ensure participants remain committed to the programme, and offset operational costs. All participants who complete the programme successfully can redeem up to $20 in vouchers.

  4. Why do I need a mobile phone?
The programme uses a dedicated mobile app to track your weight, diet and calorie intake.

  5. Can I join the programme if I have a chronic condition?
Individuals with the following conditions are not suitable for the programme:
    • Type 1 diabetes
    • Chronic kidney disease
    • Liver cirrhosis
    • Heart failure/recent heart procedure
    • Recent stroke (within six months)
    • Active cancer/cancer in remission
    • Pregnant women
For participants with other prevailing medical conditions, eligibility and acceptance is subject to NUHS’ final decision.

  6. Why is the BMI requirement higher for those aged 61 to 70 years?
For older adults, especially those with frailty, losing weight too quickly can be risky. A higher BMI requirement helps to mitigate that.

Results may vary by individual. The NU-LITE programme is designed to support participants in building sustainable lifestyle habits.
