Auto-Pay (formerly known as Express Pay) offers you the convenience of paying your bills without the hassle of waiting in queue after your visit at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Community Hospital or Jurong Medical Centre. With Auto-Pay, elderly patients in particular, you no longer need to queue at payment kiosks or initiate payments to us.
The charges are automatically credited to your pre-authorised credit card by the next working day. Your bills will be sent to your registered address and may also be viewed on HealthHub on the following working day after your visit. You may sign up for Auto-Pay through your HealthHub App, or at the HealthHub website.

Q1. What is Auto-Pay?
Auto-Pay is a fast and convenient way that allows you to skip the queue and pay for selected outpatient services at using your preferred credit/debit card (VISA/MasterCard).
Q2. How can I sign up for Auto-Pay?

Q3. What credit cards are accepted for Auto-Pay? Can I add more than 1 credit card?
We accept VISA and MasterCard credit/debit cards. You can register only one credit card for each patient account, but you can choose to add the same or different credit/debit card for different patients.
Q4. How can I amend or terminate my Auto-Pay arrangement?
You can amend or terminate your Auto-Pay payment arrangement through your HealthHub Account via the HealthHub app or at www.healthhub.sg.
To change your registered card, you can delete your current credit/debit card under your Auto-Pay setup and add a new Auto-Pay credit/ debit card.

Q5. Can I sign up for Auto-Pay if I am a foreigner?
To sign up for Auto-Pay, you require Singpass to log in to the NUHS/HealthHub App or HealthHub website: https://eservices.healthhub.sg.
Q6. If I am already on Auto-Pay (formerly known as Express Pay), can I still pay through the NUHS App/HealthHub?
Patients who have already registered for payment under Auto-Pay (formerly known as Express Pay) will not be required to pay through the NUHS App/HealthHub. For any outstanding bills incurred, automatic credit/debit card deductions will be made through Auto-Pay (formerly known as Express Pay).
Q7. When will my credit/debit card be charged using Auto-Pay?
Your credit/debit card will be charged based on the amount outstanding due from you on the bill date. Due to processing lead time, the transaction date reflected in your credit card statement may not be the same date of your visit or bill.
Q8. Can I pay for my parent(s)/children’s bill using Auto-Pay?
As the payer for your family member’s bills, you can set up their Auto-Pay payment arrangement through your personal HealthHub Account.
Q9. A portion of my bill is covered by MediSave/Civil Service Card/my company. How will my bill be settled if I were to sign up for Auto-Pay?
Only the balance amount of the bill that is not covered by any other payment mode(s), i.e. MediSave/Civil Service Card/your company, will be settled via Auto-Pay.
Q10. Does Auto-Pay have an expiry date?
The Auto-Pay account will remain current and valid till the expiry date of the credit/debit card set up for the account, or unless it is revoked by the payer via HealthHub.
Q11. Can I use Auto-Pay for my past bills?
Auto-Pay is effective only upon successful application of your Auto-Pay setup. It will not be applied to past bills prior to successful application.
Q12. What if I were to lose or terminate my credit/debit card used to set up Auto-Pay?
You may proceed to log in to HealthHub to delete the setup with that credit/debit card immediately. Add a new setup with the new card.
Q13. What if my current credit/debit card used to set up Auto-Pay has expired?
You may proceed to log in to HealthHub to delete the setup with that credit/debit card and add a new setup with a new valid card.
Q14. What should I do if I require assistance with a discrepancy with my bill?
You may call our Billing and Payment Enquiries hotline at +65 6407 8138 (Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 5.30pm, Saturday - 8.30am to 12.30pm). Alternatively, you may submit your queries via https://for.sg/asknuhs.
Paper bills will no longer be issued for outpatient services from 1 April 2024. Patients are required to log into their NUHS App to view and pay their bills. For more information, please refer to the FAQs here (PDF, 227 KB).
Outpatients will be classified as private or subsidised patients according to the following terms.
A subsidised patient refers to a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident who has been referred to a public restructured hospital without specifying a particular specialist. The hospital will assign a specialist according to its discretion.
Subsidy is only applicable for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents who are not existing private patients for the same medical condition.

MediShield Life replaced MediShield from 1 Nov 2015, and will offer:
MediShield Life is a basic health insurance plan, administered by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board, which helps to pay for large hospital bills and selected costly outpatient treatments, such as dialysis and chemotherapy for cancer.
MediShield Life coverage is sized for subsidised treatment in public hospitals. Those who choose to stay in a Class A/B1 wards or in a private hospital are also covered by MediShield Life. However, as MediShield Life payouts are pegged at Class B2/C wards, the MediShield Life payout will make up a small proportion of the bill only. The patient may therefore need to pay more of their bill from Medisave and/or cash.

Many Singaporeans have private insurance plans for hospitalisation in the form of Integrated Shield Plans (IPs).

If you have an IP, you are already covered by MediShield Life. MediShield Life is a component of your IP, there is no duplicate coverage.
The private IP insurers act as a single point of contact for IP policyholders, even though they work with CPF Board back-end on premium collection and claims disbursement for the MediShield Life component.

2. How do I view and pay for my bills? Between 19 and 30 April 2021, all NUHS patients can continue to pay for your bills via payment options reflected in your bill. 4. What about HealthHub? Can I use this app to view and pay for my bills incurred at NUHS institutions?
