Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme

NUHS Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme

The NUHS Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme is a three-year comprehensive, structured rotation between the National University Hospital (NUH) and its partner site – Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). The training follows a comprehensive curriculum under the tutelage of our consultants who are passionate teachers and have subspecialty interests across the entire field of diabetes and endocrinology.

Objectives

The Division of Endocrinology at NUH has a long history of clinical and academic excellence both nationally and in the ASEAN region. Our strengths include being a faculty dedicated to teaching and clinical care, distinguished teachers, a culture of cohesive team spirit as well as openness and dynamic leadership. Our mission is to ensure trainees achieve proficiency in diagnosing, evaluating and managing various diabetes and endocrine disorders, and to facilitate individuals to develop and grow to become thought leaders in the field.

Rotations

The team from NTFGH is made up of dedicated endocrinologists who have keen interest in teaching and training our future endocrinologists. We have a strong multi-disciplinary diabetes team comprising diabetologists, diabetes nurse educators, dieticians and podiatrists. Our dedicated multi-disciplinary thyroid clinic is run by both our thyroidologist and thyroid surgeon. This clinic will provide residents with great training opportunities for ultrasound guided thyroid fine-needle aspiration. Our well-established multi-disciplinary weight management programme has been a success and the results have been published in peer reviewed local and international journals.
