NUHS Early Career Guidance Centre (ECG-C) Events and Outreach

2026/10/22

At the NUHS Early Career Guidance Centre (ECG-C), we are committed to engage medical students and junior doctors in Singapore and overseas through a variety of events and outreach initiatives. Our programmes are designed to provide career guidance, build professional networks, and support you in your early medical career journey.

Local Engagements

We support medical students and junior doctors locally through -

  • Career Guidance Sessions: These are targeted workshops and personalised one-on-one consultations to help you plan your early medical career and better understand your options within NUHS.
  • Career Fairs: Participation in various local medical career fairs and educational events, offering direct access to NUHS information, opportunities and resources.
  • Medical Career Development Webinars: These are bi-monthly webinars covering a range of clinical and non-clinical topics relevant to your professional growth. These sessions are open to all medical students and junior doctors.

Through these local engagements, we aim to build a supportive NUHS community where you can learn, network, and grow with confidence.

Overseas Engagements

We regularly conduct outreach to connect with overseas Singaporean medical students and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) considering a career in Singapore’s healthcare system. Recent outreach trips include visits to key medical hubs in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne) and United Kingdom/ Ireland (Dublin, Cambridge, London). During these trips, we have reached out to hundreds of students and early-career doctors through multiple engagement sessions, including:

  • Career talks and open discussions on navigating PGY1 applications, MOPEX rotations, and residency pathways.
  • Meet-and-greet sessions with NUHS clinicians and education leaders, providing firsthand insights and practical advice.
  • Interactive Q&A opportunities allowing participants to address their concerns about transitioning back to Singapore and working within NUHS.
In each city, we partner with medical schools and student bodies to deliver engaging, informative sessions attended by a diverse group of aspiring doctors. These events fostered open dialogue, helped clarify pathways, and strengthened the bond between NUHS and our overseas medical community.
