NICQ Director's Message

2025/10/01

Dear Colleagues and Partners,

I am delighted to present the NUHS Institute of Clinical Quality (NICQ), a pivotal initiative in our pursuit of healthcare excellence across the NUHS cluster.

NICQ reflects our unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in patient care. This institute represents a focused effort dedicated to advancing clinical quality and driving better patient outcomes.

Our vision is to create a healthcare ecosystem that consistently surpasses expectations in service delivery and patient care.

To realise this ambition, we have identified three key pillars which will guide our efforts:

  1. Quality improvement and patient safety training
  2. Data and innovation, including appropriate value-based care
  3. Academic advancement, including research and publication

These interconnected pillars form the foundation of our strategy, ensuring every dimension of healthcare delivery is strengthened and sustained.

True progress is collaborative. I warmly invite healthcare professionals and partner organisations to join us. Your knowledge, dedication, and passion will be key to driving transformative change and innovation across our healthcare landscape.

NICQ is a place where everyone can learn, grow, and explore.  And it’s not just for the seasoned professionals. Whether you are a student, a recent graduate, or a professional eager to expand your skills, there are countless ways to engage with quality improvement. Join our workshops, training programmes, and collaborative projects, and embark on your QI journey while helping shape the future of healthcare.

Together, we can build a healthcare system that is not only efficient and effective but also accessible and deeply committed to the well-being of every individual we serve.

Thank you for your support and commitment to excellence in healthcare. Let us work together to make NICQ a leading force for innovation and quality in the healthcare sector!

Sincerely,

Prof Quek Swee Chye
