Biosketch

Dr. Lee Zi Yao earned his MBBS from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2015, obtained Membership of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (UK) in 2019, and completed a Master of Public Health (S'pore) in 2020. He was awarded the Lee Hin Peng Medal in his graduating class of the Master of Public Health programme. He completed his specialty training in Emergency Medicine in 2022 and currently practices as a Consultant in the National University Hospital Emergency Medicine Department. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSoM).

His areas of interest include medical education and pre-hospital Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He was awarded a Fellowship in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Care by the Ministry of Health in 2024, and is trained in EMS. He holds an appointment as a Consultant in the Policy and Professional Standards section of the Unit for Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (UPEC), under the Ministry of Health. 

Dr. Lee is actively involved in undergraduate education at NUS YLLSoM and in postgraduate teaching and mentoring of residents. He serves as a faculty advisor in the YLLSoM Office for Students and co-leads the school's Health, Humanitarian and Leadership Programme. He is also a core faculty member of the NUHS Emergency Medicine Residency Programme.
