Dr Choo graduated from medical school at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He completed his advanced training in Anaesthesiology, accorded specialist accreditation and obtained fellowship of the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in 2014.
In addition, Dr Choo has pursued the subspecialty of Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) by completing the fellowship training programme with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, USA which was part of the Harvard Medical School training programme. He was accorded the specialist accreditation for ICM in 2017.
Dr Choo has a special interest in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and advanced ICM echocardiography. He has been a faculty for POCUS/echocardiography in international conferences (Asia Pacific Intensive Care Symposium) as well as being accredited by the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine in advanced echocardiography.
He is the current research lead of the department and has been involved in many projects, with subsequent poster presentations in international conferences. He has also been involved in the organizing committees of many local and international conferences and was the secretary of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists for 2 years running (2017 – 2019).
