Biosketch

Dr Matthew Chen is a geriatrician, and is passionate about helping older adults age well in their community and beyond.

He graduated from Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, and obtained his postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Physicians, London. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Geriatric Medicine Senior Residency in NUH, and is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.

His clinical and research interests currently include frailty and geriatric oncology, and he is the current Geriatric Medicine lead for the NCIS Geriatric Oncology (GOLDEN) service. His list of peer-reviewed publications can be found here.

Apart from his clinical and research work, Dr Chen is dedicated to both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and is currently the Programme Director of the NUHS Senior Residency Program for Geriatric Medicine.

Dr Chen is also actively involved in the community, coordinating public health screening programmes and regularly delivering public talks and healthcare education. He currently serves as the President of the Society for Geriatric Medicine (Singapore) (SGMS).
