19 November 2022 - In conjunction with Jurong Medical Centre’s (JMC) Wellness Day, the National University Health System (NUHS) launched the National University Centre for Women and Children (NUWoC) Women’s Clinic. Guest of Honour Mr Patrick Tay, Member of Parliament and Grassroots Adviser for Pioneer SMC graced the occasion and declared the clinic officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony after the Welcome address by Mr Chua Song Khim, Deputy Chief Executive, NUHS.
Helmed by A/Prof Mahesh Choolani, Head and Senior Consultant, and his team from the Department of Obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) at the National University Hospital (NUH), the NUWoC Women’s clinic will bring a suite of obstetrics and gynaecological (O&G) services closer to the residents in Pioneer and the vicinity. These include early and routine pregnancy care, as well as treatments for gynaecological conditions such as Endometriosis, painful menstruation, fibroids, ovarian cysts and symptoms of menopause.
The event concluded with a tour of the clinic’s facilities for Mr Tay, and a public health talk on “Common Gynaecological Conditions after 40 and How to Manage Them” by Dr P. Angsumita, Senior Resident Physician, Department of O&G, NUH.
