Dr Aaron Foo is an Associate Consultant at Division of Neurosurgery at National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital. He has a concurrent appointment as Visiting Research Scientist at the Centre for Life Sciences (Neurobiology Programme) at National University Singapore (NUS) where he conducts preclinical studies on photodynamic therapy for brain cancers.
Dr Foo graduated from the Yong Yoo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, in 2011, and joined the neurosurgery residency training with the NUHS cluster in 2014. During his residency, he also completed a Ph.D. in neurobiology under Department of Physiology at NUS from 2018-2023 and graduated as Valedictorian. He completed his neurosurgery residency training and obtained the FRCS (Neurosurgery) qualification in 2024.
Dr Foo's current subspecialty interests are predominantly pediatric neurosurgical conditions, Gamma Knife radiosurgery as well as skull base surgery. His main interest in research is in diffuse midline glioma as it is an aggressive disease with limited available treatments. He recently received the NUHS Clinician Scientist Programme v2.0 grant to further this research work.
