Adj A/Prof Tey Beng Hea practises as a Senior Consultant, Endocrinology in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. He graduated in Medicine in 1971 and obtained his Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in Singapore in 1979. In 1981, he completed his fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, London, under the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP). He was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1983. Subsequently, he received his Certificates of Specialist Accreditation in Endocrinology in 1990 and Internal Medicine in 2014.
Adj A/Prof Tey was a HMDP Visiting Physician at endocrine centres at the University of California (San Francisco) and the University of California (San Diego) in 1989, and the Joslin Clinic, Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic in 1996.
All in all, Adj A/Prof Tey has more than 40 years of clinical experience and more than 20 years of active involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He has also authored and co-authored more than 20 international publications and 15 local or regional refereed publications.
Besides being one of the pioneers of JurongHealth Campus, Adj A/Prof Tey is also a member of JurongHealth Campus' Mortality & Morbidities QAC Committee (Medicine) and Tissue Audit Committee. These committees help to ensure quality and appropriate protocol in the services provided by JurongHealth Campus.
