Biosketch

Dr Shawn Lee graduated with MBBS from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS in 2011 where he was awarded the Wong Poi Kwong Medal for Clinical Medicine. He went on to obtain his Master of Medicine (Paeds) and MRCPCH (UK) in 2015. In 2017, he was awarded the Exxon-Mobil Fellowship for Clinicians, and also received the MOH Healthcare Scholarship for his Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI), which he obtained in 2019. Subsequently, he was awarded the NMRC Research Training Fellowship in 2019 where he embarked on a 2.5 year fellowship in leukemia genomics under Dr Yang Jun in St Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, USA, for which he obtained his PhD in 2024. From 2021-2024, he was awarded the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Scholar-In-Training Award and Society of Hematologic Oncology Young Investigator Award for his work on genomic diversity of childhood leukemia. He was also awarded two consecutive National University of Singapore Best Graduate Publication Awards in 2023 and 2024 and the Singapore College of Clinician Scientist INEX-Oscar Awards in 2023. He is currently a Physician-Scientist with dual roles as Consultant Pediatric Oncologist National University Hospital Singapore, and Adj Asst Professor in the National University of Singapore. His clinical and research interests lie in pharmacogenomics and immunogenomics for precision therapy in childhood leukemia.
