Adj Asst Prof Norman Lin is a Consultant in Colorectal and Trauma Surgery at the National University Hospital.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2013, and subsequently completed his specialty training in General Surgery, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2020. He was accorded Specialist Accreditation in General Surgery by the Ministry of Health, Singapore in the same year.
In 2023, Adj Asst Prof Lin was awarded the MOH Health Manpower Development Plan award and subsequently completed overseas fellowships in both Colorectal and Trauma Surgery.
His advanced Colorectal training was at the Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Centre in Taipei, where he performed oncological surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi robotic system and trained in advanced transanal techniques for rectal cancers.
He further trained in Trauma Surgery at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Johannesburg, the largest hospital in the southern hemisphere. In addition, he earned a Master's in Trauma Sciences from Queen Mary University of London in 2025.
Beyond clinical work, Adj Asst Prof Lin is passionate about teaching and has received multiple awards for medical education. He also volunteers on overseas humanitarian missions, providing surgical care to underserved communities.
Outside of work, he enjoys long-distance running and playing football with his two young sons.
