Dr Lycia Teo joined JurongHealth Campus in 2014 and practises as a Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. She is part of the multi-disciplinary team under the Assessment & Shared Care (ASCAT) programme, aimed at enhancing mental health care in the community.
Dr Teo obtained her medical degree and Master of Medicine in Psychiatry from the National University of Singapore. She later attained her membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2012. She has worked in the psychiatric departments of various hospitals – including Singapore General Hospital, Institute of Mental Health, Changi General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital – in areas such as neuropsychiatry, forensic psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, general psychiatry and consultant liaison psychiatry.
Dr Teo has a special interest in psychiatric conditions in older people, especially dementia. She underwent a one-year fellowship in dementia care at the University of Nottingham and the Nottinghamshire Health Trust in the United Kingdom. She is the clinician lead of the dementia care workgroup in NTFGH, and was responsible for setting up the hospital’s memory clinic services. In addition, she delivers talks to general practitioners and community partners regularly.
