Dr Chia is a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS), and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, along with teaching engagements at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. His concurrent clinical appointments include serving as Visiting Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, and the National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore.
A graduate of the NUS Faculty of Medicine, Dr Chia is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (Radiation Oncology), and was the first Singaporean to be awarded the prestigious C.E. Eddy Medal. His clinical expertise includes stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and proton therapy, with particular focus on brain, prostate, and breast cancers.
Dr Chia is actively involved in clinical research and quality improvement. He contributes to investigator-initiated research and international clinical trials, and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Through clinical care, research, and medical education, he is committed to advancing radiation oncology and improving outcomes for patients with cancer.
