Dr Catherina graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS), with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2013. She subsequently embarked on her Ophthalmology training at the National University Hospital (NUH) and obtained her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 2021. She was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) upon successful completion of her residency training in 2023.
During her residency training, Dr Catherina served on the Residents' Sub-committee for the National University Health System (NUHS) in 2019 and was appointed Chief Resident from 2021 to 2022. She also completed the NUHS Residency Leadership Development Programme in 2022. In 2025, she completed dual clinical fellowships at NUH in both Neuro-ophthalmology and Paediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus.
Dr Catherina is actively involved in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate doctors and is appointed as a Clinical Tutor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS). She has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented her work at various regional and international conferences.
