Haematology is a unique specialty that encompasses both clinical and laboratory aspects of medical management. Our training programme entails three years of training that fulfills the requirements of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I) and Joint Committee on Specialist Training (JCST) for specialist certification in Haematology.

The Haematology Senior Residency Programme provides a balance of didactic teaching and senior resident self-directed learning. Regular formative assessments throughout training help senior residents to learn and develop. Senior residents are also encouraged and given opportunities to participate in research and teaching activities.

Haematology senior residents will be exposed to a wide spectrum of common and rare benign and malignant haematology disorders with common and complex clinical issues including stem cell transplantation, leukaemia and lymphoma, thrombosis and haemostasis, laboratory haematology and blood banking. The educational programme will comprise didactic sessions, clinical experience, including in-patient care, consultations; stem cell transplantation and ambulatory clinics; and participation in scholarly activities.
