On 22 July 2023, more than 1,000 nurses across NUHS institutions gathered for the first time post-pandemic to celebrate Nurses' Day - on the sprawling grounds of Kent Ridge Campus, from NUS University Town Green to NUS University Cultural Centre.
Organised as a health carnival in line with HealthierSG, the event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, and special guest, Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Law, as well as former, present and future generations of nurses.
Themed "Past into Future: An Incredible Journey of NUHS Nurses", we celebrated the largest group of healthcare professionals with a special programme filled with festivities, feasting and games including a dance workout and a group walk.
There were also special performances and slick moves from our little friends at Learning Vision @ NUHS, our nurses, nursing leadership and clinicians which gave the celebration a star-studded line-up.
At the event, 116 nurses were also honoured at the NUHS Nurses' Day Award Ceremony (NUHS Nightingale Award and Joycelyn Khoo Award) - for their exemplary leadership and commitment in caring for the community - as part of the carnival. For the list of awardees, please click here (PDF, 678KB).
To support our growing and diverse NUHS nursing community, a new Nurse Researcher Career Framework was also unveiled. The framework aims to nurture nurses who are passionate in advancing nursing knowledge through an academic role in education, research and innovation, and evidence-based practice, to deliver safe and effective care.
