Dr Wang Lushun is a Consultant in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Head of Division of the Hip and Knee Service. He practices in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre, which are members of the National University Health System (NUHS).
Dr Wang graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, in 2005, having been placed on the Dean's List. He completed his postgraduate specialist training in orthopaedic surgery and was appointed a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2015.
Dr Wang was awarded a scholarship where he completed two prestigious Hip and Knee fellowships in UK and France. He is a dual fellowship-trained surgeon in the sub-specialities of Hip & Knee Adult Reconstruction (Joint replacements) and Soft tissue reconstruction (Sports injuries).
In UK, Dr Wang completed the Sir John Charnley Arthroplasty and Sports Reconstruction Fellowship in the world-renowned Hip and Knee Unit in Wrightington Hospital. At this UK designated Centre of Excellence, he acquired extensive experience in complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery and soft tissue reconstructions in sports injuries.
In France, Dr Wang underwent further training in complex hip and knee conditions at the Albert Trillat Orthopaedic Centre, Hospital Croix Rousse in Lyon. This centre is an ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery / Sports Orthopaedics Medicine) and ESSKA (European Society of Sports and Knee Arthroscopy) approved centre as well as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. There he further honed his surgical training, focusing on the use of robotic systems in partial knee replacements, knee osteotomies and the treatment of patellofemoral disorders.
Aside from his clinical work, Dr Wang is also active in medical education. He has been appointed as Adjunct Asst Professor with the National University of Singapore, and is heavily involved in the post graduate training of orthopaedic residents. He is a faculty member in the Master of Medicine (Orthopaedics) Committee with the Division of Graduate Medical Studies (National University of Singapore) and core faculty member of the NUHS orthopaedic residency program and program evaluation committee. Dr Wang has presented at numerous conferences, published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has been invited as a reviewer for several journals.
