Biosketch

Dr Ng Li Shia graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2006. As an undergraduate, she was awarded the Otolaryngology Society book prize in 2005. Dr Ng started her training in Otolaryngology under the National Specialty Training program in 2008. Her degrees include the MRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow and the Masters of Medicine in Otolaryngology with the Graduate Medical School, National University Singapore.

She is currently a Senior Consultant with the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, at the National University Hospital. After completing her specialist training, Dr Ng received the Academic Medicine Development Award (AMDA) in 2014 to subspecialize in Asian facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. She was a clinical fellow at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan from 2015-2016. Her interests are in functional septorhinoplasty, ear and nasal reconstruction. Dr Ng also provides outpatient, as well as surgical care for general ear, throat and neck conditions.

In the area of research, Dr Ng actively collaborates with the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore, in the field of surgical technology and design, as well as the Department of Anatomy, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, in the field of medical education.

Dr Ng is also an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and is actively involved in the teaching of medical undergraduates, as well as mentoring of junior doctors and residents in the department. She previously served as the Deputy Director of Undergraduate Medicine for Otolaryngology, NUS.
