Tissue Engineering and Cellular Therapy (TECT) Lab was commissioned in 2012. The lab was approved as a GMP compliant lab by the Health Sciences Authority in 2015. The facility is under the management of the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS) and it supports the Immunocellular therapy (ICT ) that covers both immunotherapy (for cancer treatment) and regenerative medicine (tissue repair). The TECT provide clinical services such as mesenchymal stem cell therapy for graft versus host disease and natural killer cell therapy for high risk acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
TECT serves a platform to incorporate clinicians, researchers and technologists facilitating the translation of benchtop findings via technical transfer into validated procedures and clinical trials. The facility comprises of certified cleanrooms with capabilities that include flow cytometry and cell selection.
