Dr Teoh Chia Meng is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. After completing his house jobs at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Western General Hospital, he moved south to Yorkshire where he joined the medical rotation at Leeds General Infirmary. After obtaining his MRCP, he entered specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine at the Yorkshire Deanery. Upon completion of his training, he remained in Yorkshire, taking up an appointment as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in Kingston-upon-Hull. During this time he was involved in UK guidelines to improve the safety of pleural procedures through the routine use of thoracic ultrasound. In addition, he played an active role in medical education as a programme director for Core Medical Training, a competency-based training scheme for junior doctors prior to MRCP, and as a Royal College of Physicians tutor. Dr Teoh is also an Assistant Professor on the Clinical Educator track for the division, contributing to medical education locally by sharing his skills and experience acquired in the UK.
