Following undergraduate training in St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India, I proceeded to the UK for specialist training in Anaesthesia.
From January 1989 to September 1996 I was in full time adult and pediatric cardiac anaesthesia practice as Senior Medical Officer at the Grantham Hospital, Hong Kong, which housed the Cardiothoracic Surgery division of Hong Kong University.
Consultant anaesthetist at the North Middlesex Hospital from 1996 to 1997 as a generalist and intensivist.
Consultant, Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the Dubai Hospital, Dubai, UAE, from 1997 to 2008, as well as being Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia (Hon): Department of Health and Medical Services - Dubai Medical College for Women - From April 2003. During this period I had an active role in several quality initiatives including team leader for ‘Clinical Effectiveness’ in the Department of Health hospitals.
Joined the Anaesthesia department at NUH as Consultant in December 2008.
