Professor Lee Yoke Sun is currently Professorial Fellow and Emeritus Consultant at the Department of Pathology, National University Hospital. He graduated from the University of Singapore with the degree of MBBS in 1967, and obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the National University of Singapore in 1987. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia since 1973 and a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom since 1977.
He was actively involved in the development of the National University Hospital since its inception and was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for invaluable contribution towards the development and commissioning of the National University Hospital. He was the Head of the Department of Pathology, National University of Singapore, as well as the Head of the Department of Pathology, National University Hospital from 1996 -2000. He was involved in medical undergraduate and postgraduate training and had served in various capacities, including Specialist Training Committee (Pathology) and Advisory Committee on Cytology/Histology (for Clinical Laboratories) of the Ministry of Health, Singapore and Singapore Accreditation Council, Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme. Professor Lee was also the Director of the Postgraduate Education (Pathology) at the National University Hospital.
He has special interest in muscle diseases and dermatopathology. For his contribution to pathology service and education in Singapore, he was conferred the Becton-Dickinson Award in 2000.
