With the rise of chronic disease, coupled with an ageing population and a healthcare manpower crunch, Singapore is more than ever in need of innovative solutions to meet present and future national health and healthcare needs.
The NUHS Centres of Excellence – a cluster of six research and innovation hubs – have been established to develop and implement new models of care incorporating smart technologies as well as innovations in research and training. Each Centre focuses on a critical area of health and is led by a distinguished domain expert or clinician-innovator. Based on a deeply researched understanding of the Singapore population and healthcare landscape, projects and initiatives are developed to improve patient care, impact the community and bolster health outcomes. These include providing support to innovation start-ups and upgrading the skills of healthcare professionals and volunteers.

As members of the National University Health System (NUHS), we are able to leverage and harness a vast pool of research talent and academic resources, collaborating closely with health science institutions including various faculties at the National University of Singapore. Moreover, co-located in Alexandra Hospital, the NUHS Centres of Excellence reside in an environment built for synergy, collaboration and breakthrough innovation – ensuring a Singapore ready for tomorrow's challenges and
pioneering a healthier future for all.
