Mission
The programme provides an integrated, structured and comprehensive training programme for the postgraduate year 1 doctor at NUH through the areas of:

Clinical Education and Training: providing broad-based and expansive clinical experience and training under close supervision, with opportunities for continuous academic stimulation and growth

Pastoral Care and Welfare: providing strong faculty mentorship and opportunities for holistic and humanistic growth and development

Assessments: providing a seamless and coordinated process to complete the assessment requirements for full medical registration

Administration: providing administrative and logistics support of posting, from start to end.
Outstanding Features
for PGY1s in NUH Rotations
Allows young doctors to appreciate the
rich academic and clinical experiences, and strong mentoring culture at NUH.
Allows young doctors to explore, collaborate and build relationships with mentors and departments of your prospective specialty of interest.
Four-monthly rotations for PGY-1s in five MOH accredited PGY1 disciplines (Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Paediatrics).
Float system in Internal Medicine and General Surgery.
Core Education Programme (CEP). A comprehensive weekly educational session dedicated to PGY1s, prepared and delivered by specialists in the five core PGY1 disciplines, to ensure that the quality academic education underpins strong clinical performance and experience.
Clinical Reasoning Programe (CRP). A monthly educational sessions, in collaboration with Centre of Medical Education at NUS, dedicated to helping PGY1s develop and apply clinical reasoning and analytic skills, towards becoming good clinicians
Mindfulness Doctor Programme (MD). A unique monthly session aimed at introducing concepts of mindfulness and reflection to PGY1s, and help PGY1s cope with challenges in the transition from school to clinic.
