NCIS Grand Rounds - Multi-Focal Primary Lung Adenocarcinomas: New Developments and Management

The concept of multifocal primary lung carcinomas (MPLCs) has been recognised since the 7th edition TNM staging in 2010, with clearer classification introduced in the 8th edition in 2017.

On imaging, MPLCs often resemble advanced metastatic lung cancer, but their far better survival outcomes make accurate distinction essential. In this session, we will explore how to differentiate MPLCs from intrapulmonary metastatic tumours and discuss whether they are more common in our Asian population of female, non-smokers. Lastly, we will cover evolving treatment strategies, from minimally invasive approaches like uniportal VATS to evidence from trials such as JCOG 0802 and CALGB 140503. With these developments, we may be at a crossroads, making this a timely moment to rethink MPLC management.

Join us to gain insights into key developments and approaches in managing MPLCs.
