Roseola Infantum is a mild contagious viral illness that is usually characterised by initial symptoms of runny nose followed by a high fever (which can trigger a febrile convulsion) that can last for up to 8 days. The fever then tends to abruptly end followed by the development of a rash of small, pink, flat or slightly raised lesions affecting initially the trunk then the limbs. This rash can last for a few days before spontaneously resolving.
