Practice Professor, Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment, NUS
Mr Khoo Teng Chye is a Practice Professor jointly with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment.
He was formerly the Executive Director for the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC), Ministry of National Development (MND), Singapore, from 2010 to December 2020, and continues to be a Fellow at CLC.
Prior to that, Mr Khoo was the Chief Executive of PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mapletree Investments and Managing Director (Special Projects) of Temasek Holdings, Chief Executive Officer/Group President of PSA Corporation, and Chief Executive Officer/Chief Planner at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), , Mr Khoo currently sits on the Boards of the NUS Tropical Marine Science Institute NUS Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies, the National University Health System (NUHS), and Temasek Foundation Connects. He serves as a member of the Development Projects Advisory Panel, which was set up by Ministry of Finance. Mr Khoo is an advisor to the Pictet Bank (Switzerland) Smart City Advisory Fund, Vice-Chairman, Urban Land Institute Asia Pacific Executive Committee, Senior Fellow of the URA Academy, and a Fellow of the Singapore Academy of Engineers, and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
Mr Khoo was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2018, the Public Administration (Gold) in 1996 and the Public Administration (Silver) in 1987 by the Singapore government. He was also conferred the Meritorious Service Award by the National Trade Union Congress in 2008.
Mr Khoo graduated with First Class Honours in Civil Engineering from Monash University, Australia. As a President-cum-Colombo Plan Scholar, he also holds a Master of Science in Construction Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. He attended the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
