Medical Writing Workshop, October 2009




Dr Denis D'Auria, a trained facilitator for the Tim Albert Medical Writing Workshop - Writing a
Journal Article & Getting it Published, was in town to conduct two sessions of the workshop.
Participants to the workshop picked up tips on how to get started on writing and managing the writing process.


The small group sessions allowed participants to present and share their first drafts with fellow
participants and critically appraise one another's work-in-progress.


SIGN Workshop on: Developing Clinical Guidelines, October 2009




Facilitators from the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) conducted a
Developing Clinical Guidelines Workshop in October 2009.


Participants to the workshop were introduced to the SIGN guideline development methodology. They also learnt how to set key questions, identify and evaluate evidence, which are critical to developing guidelines.


Scientific Writing & Scientific Presentation, June 2010

Participants of the workshops were imparted the knowledge of reader-centric scientific writing and keeping their presentation crisp and how to achieve more with fewer slides.

Distinguished Editors Series: Nature Medicine Masterclass on Medical Writing

 

Dr Juan Carlos Lopez, Chief Editor, Nature Medicine, was in Singapore from 19 - 23 July 2010. He presented several lectures to several groups on "In Print - Demystifying Publication", "From Publication to Product: Challenges and Opportunities" and "Present and Future of Molecular Medicine".  Participants to the Nature Medicine Masterclass on Medical Writing also had a one-to-one manuscript review session with Dr Lopez.
