Young Researcher Award - Dr Paul Macary
 Since joining NUS in 2005, Dr MacAry’s work has attracted over $5 million in competitive research funding which are featured in top international journals such as Science, Nature Medicine and Immunity with over 900 citations received. Other than serving in the Department of Microbiology Executive Committee, Dr MacAry is also in the medical school’s Research Task Force.
He and his team are well-known for creating novel monoclonal antibodies that target virus-infected cells and tumours. Currently, Roche is testing for the treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma, a type of liver cancer from the novel antibody platform that Dr. MacAry created. In addition, the anti-Dengue antibodies developed by Dr MacAry’s team is being assessed by pharmaceutical giant, Novartis. We would like to congratulate Dr MacAry for his achievement and we look forward to his contribution to the practice of Medicine.
