The multi-agency IDM R&D Programme Office (IDMPO) hosted within the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) is set up in August 2006 to spearhead the growth and development of Singapore's IDM sector, and coordinates a cross-disciplinary effort to deepen Singapore's research capacity in IDM.
To-date, the IDMPO has identified four key focus areas: Education, Animation, Games & Effects, Media Intermediary ("Mediary") Services, and "On-the-Move" Technologies. The development of IDM R&D in Education is fronted by the Ministry of Education. The IDM Programme Office has also formulated four interlinked programmes to support the development of the key focus areas and transform Singapore into a global IDM capital.
