Start Up Grant for New Staff
Start up grants are provided by the University to newly recruited tenurable staff to facilitate the buildup of their research programmes and achieve excellence in their research. The Start Grant Scheme is administered by the Office of the Deputy President (Research and Technology). Under the scheme, Faculties / Schools will each be allocated a Start up Block for each financial year. Deans can draw down from this Start up Block budget without having the new faculty submit a research proposal and reports. The maximum amount for each recruit is capped at S$180K, but less can be awarded if appropriate.
