This is jointly launched by the Singaporean universities National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) along with the Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory (TLL) and the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and the German Ministry of Education and Research, in cooperation with the German Embassy.
The programme is based on the transparency - open and clear procedures for the call for projects and candidates. Scientific evaluation of the proposals by experts in their respective fields, flexibility and visibility of the joint cooperative activities between the Singaporean and German parties.
The aim of this programme is:
• To create and/or strengthen existing scientific co-operation between Singapore and Germany
• To promote the further development of existing cooperation and support individual scientists and institutions in identifying new research partners and initiating new projects
• To support activities which serve as a preparation for a comprehensive application for Singaporean and German national funding programmes or the funding programmes of the European Union (EU)

• ICT e.g. Interactive and digital media
• Energy systems, in particular energy efficiency and solar energy
• Aerotechnics
• Engineering, in particular electronic engineering
• Natural disaster risk management

Workshops |
Hospitality e.g. coffee breaks, cost for workshop venue or
transportation cost for scientific excursion during a bilateral
workshop can be subsidised by the participating funding agency
of the respective country where the workshop takes place. The
amount of funding depends on the comprehensiveness of event.
Flights of invited German experts to workshops organised by
Singaporean partners can be funded by the IB-BMBF.

Application Criteria
• Please note that this call is only applicable to NUS staff.
• Projects submitted must be a collaborative research project involving both a German and a Singaporean partner.
• Projects will be evaluated and selected by the relevant Singaporean institutions and the German Ministry of Education and Research.
