Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) has launched Phase II of the Food Fund. The Food Fund is an incentive programme administered by AVA. Through the Food Fund, AVA aims to enhance Singapore's food supply resilience in chicken, pork, fish, eggs, leafy vegetables and rice. At the same time, the Food Fund can help to strengthen our strategies in local farming and food diversification to ensure a resilient supply of food for Singapore.
The Food Fund is used to support Research & Development (R&D), Farm Capability Upgrading and Food Diversification.
Kindly note that NUS/NUHS Staff is only eligible to apply for the Research & Development (R&D) - Challenge Call & the Research & Development (R&D) - Open Call.
R&D (Challenge Call)
The call for proposals in R&D projects in the following areas:
(i) Poultry
To develop a cost effective technology to manage poultry waste and produce good quality and disease-free composts for vegetable farming and/or biogas production.
(ii) Fish
To achieve consistent fry production for commonly farmed species. The species identified are common and affordable food fish species such as trevally, pompano, tilapias, snappers & mullet. The proposed hatchery system must demonstrate production capability of at least 4 million fry per hectare per annum.
R&D (Open Call)
In this category, AVA will accept R&D proposals in areas beyond the Challenge Call focus areas.
Objective of this category is to support R&D or pilot trials in food farming technology with direct practical industry application, so as to maximize local farm productivity to ensure food supply resilience.
