Genomics Core Laboratory

The Genomics Core Laboratory supports activities critical for experimental therapeutics and investigational medicine. It offers state of the art equipment for analysis of DNA, RNA and protein-based biomarkers in body fluids, frozen/archival tissues, and culture and environment isolates.

The Genomics Core Laboratory is located within the premises of the Molecular Diagnosis Centre (MDC) Laboratory which house some of the latest equipment for genomic and proteomic research. It is open to clinician-scientists, clinical scholars and basic research studies on a nominal fee basis. The professional and highly competent technical staffs at the MDC also engage in translational molecular medicine research, working with other researchers in Singapore and overseas.

The MDC laboratory has been a partner in numerous international clinical trials sponsored by multinational pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies. In addition, the MDC laboratory is a CAP-accredited laboratory with a diagnostic menu of more than 100 different molecular tests across a broad spectrum of clinical diseases/disciplines. The MDC is experienced in providing fast, accurate and cutting-edge molecular testing with a focus on 5 main areas:

  • Infectious diseases
  • Genetics
  • Haemato-oncology
  • Pharmacogenetic testing
  • Transplantation supporting services
