The NHG DSRB (National Healthcare Group Domain Specific Review Board) conducts the ethical review of all research performed in NHG and approves all research involving NHG patients, NHG staff, NHG premises or NHG facilities.
With effect from August 2004, the NHG DSRB requires all Principal Investigators (PIs) to submit proof of research ethics training. This is to ensure that all key investigators involved in research activities are able to apply the ethical principles underlying research.
The minimum training requirement of a PI is to be certified in Good Clinical Practice. Alternatively, a PI may be certified in the “CITI Program in the Protection of Human Subjects”, which is a comprehensive selection of 26 educational modules. Learn more
