Application Process

Dear Applicants,


We have put together some important information that you may need to know for your application as follows.

Timeline for Application

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the residency application exercise, you will first need to be offered an employment by MOH Holdings (MOHH).  

You will need to have a basic medical degree and/or postgraduate degree that is recognisable by Singapore Medical Council.  You can download the List of Registrable Basic Medical Qualification. You may also wish to refer to this site International Medical Graduates (IMG) for more information. 

If you are a final-year medical student, House Officer or Medical Officer, you are eligible to apply for Phase I and II residency programmes as follows:

Submission of Portfolio & Interview

You are required to submit your portfolio, after which you will be notified by MOHH to attend a Multi-Mini interview. 

In the portfolio submission to MOHH, you may like to include the following information  as part of the Personal Statement:

  • Why am I interested in the programme?
  • Why am I keen on training at National University Health System (NUHS)?
  • Why the SI should choose you  for the training programme?
  • What matters most to you and why?
  • For those interested in NUHS Transitional Year programme, please state the specialty of interest (if known).

Matching to Sponsoring Institute (SI)

After the interview, you are required to rank your preferences and likewise, SIs will rank the applicants. 

You will be informed once the match is successful.
